The NFL Week 4 Predictions
Week 4 of the NFL season is here and there looks like many of these games could come down to the wire. This makes betting a true sport all its own. There are many who research the ins and outs each game all week long before they place their bet. They have to know exactly what the computer says about each team and the probability of this and that before they commit. Then there are those who go by their gut. They know football and they know that regardless of all the numbers and hype you really don’t have a definitive clue until game day. The games are decided on the gridiron. For some betting is fun and for others it is a way of life. I write by the numbers and I write from my gut so that all betters get the scoop.
The first game we are going to cover is the Baltimore Ravens at the New England Patroits. The Pats are a 1.5 point favorite. We know they are not going to win by 1.5 points but they should win. Tom Brady finally got back into the groove against the Falcons and playing at home will be in his favor. The Ravens are on a roll but I like the Patroits at home 22-17.
The New York Jets journey to New Orleans to take on the Saints. Drew Brees can definately put up some big passing numbers against most anyone but the Jet defense has been hungry and agressive. The Saints are 7 point favorites here because of their high powered offense. This is my upset pick of the week. The Saints have not looked well on defense this year and I think they will get stunned here. I like the Jets by a field goal 24-21.
The San Diego Chargers face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. The Steelers are a 6.5 point favorite even though they are off to a 1-2 start and showing signs of a superbowl hangover. The thing about a team like the Steelers is that even when they are not 100% they are still better than most teams. The Chargers are not hitting on all cylindars either and thats why I am taking the Steelers at home 27-20.
Monday night the Green Bay Packers go to Minnesota to take on the Vikings and Brett Farve. Later in the year the Vikings will travel to Lambeau and that should be even more interesting as Farve returns back to the land of the cheese heads. Still, this game offers some drama as well. The Vikings pulled it out in the last 2 seconds against San Francisco when Farve threw a 32 yard TD pass. The Packers have not looked great this year although many picked them to win the division easily. The Vikings are favored by 3.5 and I like them at home as well. The Vikings will win 20-16.
Of Friday we will cover all the major sporting news prior to the weekend. We will take a look at the MLB race winding down and offer a few NCAA football predictions as well. Until we meet again may your betting be better and remember to always be a good sport.
