Cotto vs Margarito fight betting analysis

On July 26th, at the MGM Grand Garden, Las vegas, Miguel Cotto gets back in the ring, to face off with Antonio Margarito  in what figures to be one of the most interesting fight for online boxing bettors. The WBA Welterweight Champ, Miguel Cotto is the -175 odds favorite against the IBF Welterweight champ, Margarito.

Cotto, the undefeated WBA champion from Puerto Rico, will headline a Las Vegas card for the first time when he meets IBF champion Margarito at the MGM Grand Garden. Miguel Cotto (32-0, 26 KO’s) of Caguas, Puerto Rico has been skillfully managed, and not only built up his record and confidence, but actually gave him the incremental.

Cotto is not the biggest puncher but he punches hard. He’s a boxer mostly and uses footwork and timing to move in and out of his opponents range and work his offense in rhythmic spurts. He’s a serious tough guy and has demonstrated the ability to over come adversity, particularly in the controversial De Marcus Corley fight back in 2005, when Cotto was still campaigning at Jr. Welter.

Start betting in this great fight now and enjoy BetUS $75 Welcome Bonus.

Antonio Margarito (36-5, 26 KO’s) hails from Tijuana Mexico and at five feet eleven inches tall, he’s pretty big for a welterweight. He’s a brawler with sneaky power in both hands and has a damn good chin. Margarito is pure warrior—a “fighter.” Margarito likes attacking the body and keeping up the kind of pressure that takes opponents out of their game plan and into his favorite fashion of fisticuffs; the brawl.

If you like “sluggers” Margarito is your kind of fighter. He doesn’t talk nonsense and he doesn’t care about trying to speak English, he speaks his language in the ring. Margarito is not the most polished boxer, but his boxing skills are good. He is a natural slow starter, who often boxes for the first few rounds to figure you out. That is the place where he is vulnerable. Margarito is tough and has never been knocked out, even though he’s lost five fights since turning pro in circa 1994.

Boxing online wagers take Cotto as favourite to beat Margarito by decision.  But I’d take a chance and bet on Margarito winning by KO.  Check all Cotto vs Margarito final result odds.

Best and Worst 2008 MLB betting teams

Every season, there are surprise teams, a good bettor should have the ability to know where to pick one of the lucrative teams, and when to stay away from those you can’t bet on. It’s not as simple as checking daily baseball betting lines. This MLB season American League has been leaps and bounds better than the National League overall. Eight of the 14 AL teams boast a +.500 record or better, while the NL has just six of its 16 representatives owning a winning overall mark.

..And the best MLB teams are

1) Minnesota Twins (53-42) (+$1689.00) No matter what the Twins do to its roster during the off-season, this club always seems to be in the thick of the AL Central race. They’ve racked up a bulk of their wins and earnings at home (32-18 +$1443), but have also showed a penchant for competing on the road where they’re 21-24 overall reeling in $246 of profit for the MLB betting public.

2) Texas Rangers (50-46) (+$1397.00) The Texas Rangers have been an underdog bettors dream throughout the first half of the 2008 season. they’ve reeled MLB bettors in close to $1400 on the year simply due to the fact that they take care of business on the road.

3) Florida Marlins (50-45) (+$1377.00) The Marlins brass knew exactly what they were doing when they unloaded a pair of superstars this past off-season. They’re the third highest grossing ball club bringing in close to $1400 on the season.

4) Tampa Bay Rays (55-39) (+$1274.00) The Tampa Bay Rays are still the best story in baseball this 2008 MLB season. Their pitching, speed, and defense has kept them in the AL East race.

Worst MLB teams list

1) San Diego Padres (37-58) (-$2421.00) This club just can’t seem to do anything right. Petco Park used to be a huge advantage for them, but that hasn’t been the case in ‘08. They currently stand seven-games under .500 at 23-30 overall and have cost MLB betting fans a lofty $1252.

2) Cleveland Indians (41-53) (-$2412.00) Their MLB odds to win the AL Central was second worst in line to only the Detroit Tigers at the start of the season, but this club just couldn’t hold up to the pre-season predictions.

3) Seattle Mariners (37-58) (-$2097.00) They’ve proven to be the worst home bet in all of baseball evidenced by the $1343 they’ve cost their betting backers, and they’re in the red on the road as well dropping 31 of its 49 road games (-$754).

New England to Win Super Bowl 2009

Filed under: Articles, Betting Previews, NFL Football — Tags: , , — admin @ 12:49 am

The oddsmakers and the betting public weren’t all that impressed with the New York Giants’ victory over the Patriots, as New England is a solid favorite to win Super Bowl XLIII. The Patriots are roughly at odds of 3-1 (+300), with the next closest teams the Colts and the Chargers, both available in the +750 range.
The Dallas Cowboys are favored to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, as Dallas can be found around +800 to win the Super Bowl. The Giants are the second-highest NFC team listed, but can be found at odds around 15-1 to repeat as champions.

A look at all football teams:

New England +300
Indianapolis, San Diego +750
Dallas +800
Jacksonville, New York Giants +1400
Green Bay +2000
Minnesota, Pittsburgh +2500
Seattle +2800
Cleveland +3300
Chicago, Denver, Tennessee, Washington +4000
Arizona, Cincinnati, Carolina, Tampa Bay +5000
Baltimore +6600
Buffalo, Detroit, Houston, San Francisco, St. Louis +8000
Kansas City, New York Jets, Oakland +10000
Miami +12500
Atlanta +15000

The best thing bettors can do is to shop for the best lines on their team at as many different sportsbooks as possible. Odds will vary greatly between sportsbooks for futures NFL bets, and sports gamblers need to grab every advantage they possibly can.

2008 Nascar LifeLock.com 400 preview

2008 Nascar cup betting continues this week at Illinois with the 2008 LIfeLock.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday July 12th. The race at Chicagoland hasn’t been going on for too long, the first race was held in 2001. In the 7 races here only 2 drivers have been able to walk away win twice on this track, Kevin Harvick who won the first 2 races at this event, and defending champion Tony Stewart. Both Stewart and Harvick are battling it out for the 12 spot.

Read 2008 Nascar LifeLock.com odds and analysis about who could win this race.

Kyle Busch 6/1 odds.
There is no question that this guy has been the best driver this season. As it looks right now this guy is going to run away with this thing and be crowned your 2008 Sprint Cup Points Champion. Busch has yet to win here, and if he does it will be win number 7 on the season.

Start Betting on 2008 Nascar now!

Carl Edwards 7/1 odds.
Edwards is a real threat this weekend, as he is not only coming off a 3rd place finish here at Chicagoland a year ago, he is coming off a great 2nd place finish last weekend at the Coke Zero 400. Edwards looks safe at the 4th spot in the point standings and we wouldn’t be surprised if he gets even closer to the top this weekend.

Jimmie Johnson 7/1 odds.
Johnson always race well here at Chicagoland in his career, as he hadn’t finished worse than 6th since first racing here in 2002. Johnson still wound up leading the 2nd most laps that weekend, and its only a matter of time before this guy wins this race. Johnson has yet to really get it going this season, and a win here could be the start of his run at a 3rd straight championship season.

Get The Best NFL Betting Lines

One of the biggest misconceptions about professional gamblers is that they are all top-notch handicappers. They aren’t. But they do one thing far better than the average bettor. They know how to shop for lines.
Getting the best available nfl betting lines can often make the difference between a winning season and a losing one. Those who bet for a living are quick to acknowledge that fact. If you want to see the value in shopping for lines, look no farther than the NFL futures market for odds to win the 2009 Super Bowl.

A number of smart bettors will typically avoid placing futures bets, as the house typically has an estimated 30- to 50-percent advantage over bettors. But for those willing to shop for the best odds, those percentages can be drastically reduced.

What we’ll do here is look at the odds to win the 2009 Super Bowl from four we–known sportsbooks - Bodog, Intertops and Sportsbook.com.

2008 Wimbledon Final Betting Federer vs Nadal

The moment has arrived, Federer will face Nadal in the 2008 Wimbledon Final. Hot online sports betting money has been going to wagering on Nadal during Wimbledon betting. Records were being broken, not only at BetUS but also worldwide in the tennis betting markets. Now, with the Wimbledon final set to kick off on Sunday, the online sports betting community is presented with one more opportunity to bet on Nadal.

This time it is in the most important and much anticipated battle on Centre Court – the online 2008 Wimbledon final. The match that sports bettors are comparing to the legendary rivalry of Borg-McEnroe of 1980/81, where Borg was the Federer and McEnroe the Nadal who ended Borg’s streak of five Wimbledon titles in 1981, has everyone wondering whether history will repeat itself. So when the grass has nestled, the final bow taken, who will be the one clutching the Wimbledon trophy? Will Federer return to the Wimbledon fold or will Wimbledon embrace a new champion? Here is my take on this sensational and fitting 2008 Wimbledon billing.

2008 Wimbledon Final Betting Line: Roger Federer -140 Rafael Nadal EV 1

Head-to-head Analysis: Nadal Leads 11-6

Nadal is one of few players who can claim a winning record over the World No.1. In Grand Slams they have met six times, with Nadal getting the better of Nadal 4-2. This is their seventh Grand Slam final meeting and second in 2008. Nadal defeated Federer thoroughly in the French Open final

Nadal (EVEN) For the past three years, Rafael Nadal has made a concentrated effort to improve his grass court game. In 2006, when Nadal reached the first Wimbledon final, he was but a rookie. He managed to take one set of Federer before Federer clinched the victory in four. In 2007, in spite of playing seven straight days (because of rain delays) and hindered with a knee injury, Nadal impressively managed to come close to beating Federer. Stretching the maestro to an epic five set battle 7-6(7), 4-6, 7-6(3), 2-6, 6-2. This year Nadal has his best shot of winning Wimbledon.

Nadal arrives in the final having dropped just one set – against Ernests Gulbis in the second round. In the quarterfinal, he was nothing short of superb in his powerful dismissal of Andy Murray. With a relatively straightforward victory in the semi-final against Rainer Schuettler, Nadal should be fresh and well rested to meet the challenge of Federer.

Federer (-140) Roger Federer is in his domain, his favourite playground. Federer’s game is cut for grass and he has sat on his grass perch for five years, amassing a 64 consecutive match win record. Federer is gunning for a historic sixth consecutive Wimbledon title.

Tennis Prediction: While Federer has failed to solve the Nadal dilemma on clay in three tries at the French Open, he has in their last two meetings at Wimbledon. But with the season the Spaniard has enjoyed, significantly winning the Stella Artois Championship, the big question is will Nadal solve the dilemma that is Federer on grass. This match will probably go one of two ways – either it will be a blowout like the French Open final or it will be another epic like the 2007 Wimbledon title. I am hoping for the latter. Since Nadal’s loss at the Masters Series in Rome, he has enjoyed a 23-match-winning streak highlighted by winning the title in Hamburg, French Open and Stella Artois Championships.

2008 Wimbledon Final Betting Prediction: I cannot help but feel the turning of tides may have finally arrived in the Spaniards fortunes. He has been World No.2 for three years – a feat no other has accomplished. His run-up to Wimbledon was convincing and his progress through the rounds at the All England Club only confirmed him even more as a viable contender for the 2008 Wimbledon title. Even the odds makers’ are giving him a shot at even odds. Heck, even Bjorn Borg himself picks Nadal – and he is a big fan of Federer.

2008 Wimbledon Final Free Picks: Nadal in four sets
