NFC Championship Game Betting Analysis

With their fifth NFC Championship game appearance in the last eight years the Philadelphia Eagles play at Arizona on Sunday. Unfortunately for Philadelphia, they won only one of those previous four games. The Arizona Cardinals on the other hand are making their first ever appearance in the NFC Championship. They are also the first-ever #4 seed to host a championship game. NFL online bettors are taking Eagles on the Road.

NFC Betting Lines: Eagles – 3 , Total 48

The Cardinals finished the regular season poorly but they have turned things around in the NFL playoffs. They defeated a talented Atlanta team in the Wild Card round and last week upset Carolina at home as a ten point underdog.

Philadelphia defeated Arizona earlier this season by a score of 48-20 but that game was in Philadelphia. The Eagles have played well on the road in the playoffs, defeating Minnesota in the Wild Card round and the Giants in last week’s divisional round.

The NFL betting keys to Sunday’s game could be injuries. Philadelphia running back Brian Westbrook is playing hurt and Arizona wide receiver Anquan Boldin is also expected to play with his hamstring injury after sitting out last week’s win over Carolina. Westbrook had 110 yards rushing against Arizona in their first meeting but he has not looked healthy recently. He has just 74 yards in the playoffs on 38 carries.

Here are the NFL internet betting stats for Sunday’s game. The Eagles are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 playoff road games. The Eagles betting shows 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite. The Eagles are 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings against Arizona.

The Cardinals betting shows 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games in January. The Cardinals are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games. The Cardinals are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games as an underdog.

NFC Betting Lines: Eagles – 4 , Total 47

The NFL betting Under is 5-0-1 in the Eagles last 6 playoff games as a favorite. The Under is 4-0 in the Eagles last 4 road games. The Under is 19-7-1 in the Eagles last 27 games as a road favorite. The Over is 5-1 in the Cardinals last 6 games as a home underdog. The NFL betting Over is 19-7 in the Cardinals last 26 home games. The Over is 36-17 in the Cardinals last 53 games overall. The Over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Arizona between the two teams.
