GMAC Bowl Betting Pick – Central Michigan vs. Troy

GMAC BowlCentral Michigan may be ranked, and they may be favored in the GMAC Bowl on Wednesday, but they won’t have their head coach and they will basically be playing a road game since the GMAC Bowl is in Mobile, Alabama. Head coach Butch Jones bolted for Cincinnati so the Chippewas will have to find a way to win without him on Wednesday they face Troy in the college football betting GMAC Bowl. It didn’t work very well for Cincinnati earlier this bowl season without their head coach Brian Kelly as they were routed by Florida.

Central Michigan is a 2.5 point favorite at SBG Global!

Central Michigan won the Mid-American Conference for the third time in four seasons. The averaged 32.6 points per game with Jones as head coach and they won the MAC title game over Ohio that got them into this game against Troy. When Brian Kelly left for Notre Dame, the Bearcats wanted Jones and he took the job. “We are very thankful for the contributions Butch Jones has made to our football program, our university and our community,” athletic director Dave Heeke said. “Any opportunity that arises for him is a reflection of the high-quality student-athletes and strong tradition that Central Michigan has enjoyed. We are excited to be a Top 25 program preparing for our fourth consecutive bowl game.”

Central Michigan will be led by associate coach Steve Stripling for the bowl game. “I’m very excited about the opportunity to lead this program,” Stripling said, “We want to make this a winning experience and have an enjoyable experience as well. This team has accomplished a lot already this season, and we are looking forward to achieving our goals of being bowl champions and finishing in the Top 25.”

Central Michigan still has quarterback Dan LeFevour for one more game though. He threw for 27 touchdowns this season to lead the Chippewas. His favorite target is Bryan Anderson who has caught at least one pass in an NCAA record 53 consecutive games.

Troy has an offense that is almost as good as Central Michigan’s. They averaged 33.1 points per game this college football betting season and more than 41 in their last six games. They have an excellent quarterback as well in Levi Brown who was second in the nation with 322.3 passing yards per game.

The Trojans are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Trojans are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games. The Chippewas are 25-9-2 ATS in their last 36 games as a favorite.

Central Michigan is a 2.5 point favorite at SBG Global. Bet now!

Exploring The College Football Bowl Games

Today at 4:30 the Meineke Bowl kicks off between the 17th ranked Pittsburgh Panthers (9-3) and the not ranked University of North Carolina Tar Heels (8-4) in Charlotte, NC.  The Tar Heels are typically better known for their basketball skills but this year the football team stepped it up a notch.  The Tar Heel run game will be a thorn in their side all night long with running back Shaun Draughn not anticipated to play.  That will put all the pressure on Tar Heel QB T. J. Yates and that is not a good thing.  The Panthers have not won 10 games in a season in over 28 years.  They should change that today.

On January 1st the 8th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes (10-2)  take on the 7th ranked Oregon Ducks (10-2) in the Rose Bowl.  The Buckeyes have suspended a few of their key players for team rule violations.  One is Ray Small who just happens to be the fasted man on the Buckeye squad.  The other is WR Duron Carter, son of NFL Viking All-pro WR Chris Carter.    Even so this should be a good game.  They Buckeyes have the bowl experience here and I believe they will find a way to win.

The Sugar Bowl on January 1st places the 5th ranked Florida Gators (12-1) against the 4th ranked Cincinnati Bearcats (12-0).  Gator QB Tim Tebow has been one of the most beloved college players during his tenure in Florida but the Gators blew their number one ranking when they lost to the Alabama Crimson Tide.  Tim Tebow and the Gators are going to want to end his college career on an upnote.  The Gators will pull this one out.

The BCS Championship will be decided on Janurary 7th when the 2nd ranked Texas Longhorns (13-0) meet up with the 1st ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (13-0).  This one should be a dandy.  Longhorn QB Colt McCoy would also love to ride off into the sunset with a victory here.  Alabama made a believer out of me when they upset Florida.  I like Alabama in this one.  Until we meet again may your betting be better and remember to always be a good sport.

NCAA Football ODDS For Saturday, December 5th

Cincinnati and Pittsburgh are set to square off once again.  No, not the Steelers and the Bengals of the NFL, but the Bearcats and the Panthers of college fame.  No less than 3 teams out of the Big East are in the top 25 and two of them are Cincinnati and Pittsburgh.  The Cincinnati Bearcats lead the Big East with a 11-0 record while the Pittsburgh Panthers are 9-2 and in second.  The Bearcats are ranked 5th in the country and the Panthers are ranked 14th.  The Bearcats are favored by 1.5.  This river rivalry should be a dandy.

Texas Longhorn fans are getting fired up as they prepare to meet the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday.  The Texas Longhorns lead the Big 12 South with a 12-0 record and are ranked number 3 in the country.  The Nebraska Cornhuskers lead the Big 12 North with a 9-3 record and are ranked 21st in the country.  This rivalry goes way back and could hold some surprises.  However, the Longhorns are favored by 15.5 points.

The sparks will be flying in Alabama this Saturday when the perhaps the biggest game of the year is played between the number 1 Florida Gators who are 12-0 and the Alabama Crimson Tide ranked number 2 and sporting a 12-0 record as well.  This is a game you do not want to miss.  The Gators are favored by 5 in this battle for the overall Southeastern Championship and the number 1 supremacy.   This is going to be a battle.

The NCAA Football season is winding down and soon the Bowl games will be in full swing on the road to the National Championship.  There are going to be some collisions heard around the world and you can bet on that.  Until we meet again may your betting be better and remember to always be a good sport.

NCAA Betting Previews Oregon vs Arizona

The Pac-10 race is controlled by 11th-ranked Oregon but that could change if the Ducks trip up against Arizona on Saturday.  The Ducks lead the conference at 6-1 and can go to the Rose Bowl with a win over Arizona and in their finale against Oregon State.  If Arizona can win though, the race becomes wide open.

Oregon is a 6-point favorite with a total of 60 at SBG Global. Click here!

Arizona, Stanford and Oregon State still have a shot at making the Rose Bowl but only if the Ducks slip up.  “We know we’ve got to win to stay in the big picture,” Arizona coach Mike Stoops said. “There’s a lot of football to be played, but pretty much it’ll be over if we don’t win on Saturday.”

Oregon has the sixth-best rushing offense in the country led by freshman LaMichael James and quarterback Jeremiah Masoli.  James is 10th in the country with 1,193 rushing yards. “LaMichael had a great game (against Arizona State) and showed again why he’s one of the best in the nation. We’re going to ride him as long as we can,” Oregon coach Chip Kelly said.

Masoli has run for nine TDs and thrown for 11.  The Ducks offense is 9th in the country, averaging 37.1 points per game.

Arizona is going to have to score on Saturday to keep up with Oregon.  Quarterback Nick Foles has had a solid season and he will need a big game against the Ducks.  The Wildcats are 5-0 at home this season and last year they defeated the Ducks 55-45 at home.

Here are the college football betting stats for Saturday’s game. The Ducks are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 conference games. The Ducks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a road favorite.

The Wildcats are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as a home underdog. The Wildcats are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 conference games. The Wildcats are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games in November. The home team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between the two teams.

The Over is 4-0 in the Ducks last 4 games overall. The Over is 12-5-1 in the Ducks last 18 games as a road favorite. The Under is 7-1 in the Wildcats last 8 home games.

NCAA Football This Week!

The NCAA Football season is well underway with the Florida Gators riding high at number 1. The Gators play host to the Tennessee Volunteers this Saturday afternoon.

Tennessee under new Head Coach Lane Kiffin were knocked off UCLA and the Bruins are not the Gators. The Gators are heavily favored in this one by more than 4 touchdowns.

They should win it easily. Number 2 in the Nation the Texas Longhorns had their way with the Wyoming Cowboys last week and should do the same against Texas Tech. Although Texas Tech won easily last week they are 17.5 point underdogs to their in state rivals the Longhorns.

Number 3 USC is on the road to Washington to take on the Huskies. The Trojans knocked off Ohio State and are favored by 18.5 over the Huskies. I cannot see any evidence to the contrary. Number 4 this week is the Alabama Crimson Tide. They will host North Texas and are favored by 38 points. This one could be ugly. Number 5 is the Penn State Nittany Lions Will play host to Temple. Penn State is favored by 30 and this one could get out of hand as well.

Coming in at number 7 is the Brigham Young. They are hosting Florida State. BYU is favored by 7.5 points. This should be a good one but in the end the BYU Cougars will have too much fire power for the Florida State Seminoles. At number 8 the California Golden Bears take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Although California is a 14 point favorite this one could be closer than some think. At number 9 is the LSU Tigers. They host LA Layfayette. The Tigers should coast in this one and they are favored by 26 and a half points.

The number 11 Ohio State Buckeyes travel to Toledo, Ohio and are favored by 20 and a half points. This should be an easy pickup by the Buckeyes but you just never know for sure. The number 12 Oklahoma Sooners host Tulsa and although they are only favored by 17 and a half points, it could get much worse. When it comes to college football you just can’t beat the team spirit that is presented at the games. T

hat spirit, on occasion, can give a good football team the edge they need to prevail. This has all the makings of a great week in NCAA Football. Autumn is in the air and the smell of the pigskin reminds us of gridiron battles long ago fought but not forgotten. Until we meet again may your betting be better and remember to always be a good sport.

A Sportsbook Gazette Sports Roundup!

In the tennis world Roger Federer became a proud father of twins last month and to sweeten his life a little more he won the Cinncinati Masters on Sunday beating Novak Djokovic 6-1 and 7-5. It was Federer’s first win as a father and it choked him up a bit. Next week he will play in the U.S. Open which he has won the last 5 tournaments. He looks confident enough to make it number 6.

The NFL Preseason is well under way and in Philadelphia Michael Vick seems ready to step on the field this coming Thursday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Vick, the former QB for the Atlanta Falcons just finished a prison sentence for association with dog fighting. The Eagles have given him a chance to prove he is a changed man and can still deliver a peak performance. In other NFL news it is true that it is only preseason but this is the time to test the veterans and the rookies to see what they can bring to the table.

You cannot help but be curious as to how some of the big trades will work out over the past off season. Jay Cutler, the former Denver QB was traded to the Chicago Bears. Jay Cutler looked pretty good over the weekend as Chicago defeated the New York Giants 17-3.

Chicago is my pick to win the NFC Central as long as they stay healthy. Cutler is the missing ingredient this team has needed for years. Chad Pennington was traded to the Miami Dolphins last year from the New York Jets when they signed Brett Farve for one season.

Pennington lead the Dolphins from a 1-15 season the previous year to a 11-5 record. Then he stumbled in the playoffs against the Baltimore Ravens throwing 4 interceptions. Chad knows he cannot make that mistake again this year. He knows this may be his last chance. The Ravens take on the New York Jets tonight on Monday Night Football.

In NCAA Football the Associated Press released their preseason top 25 and Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators were at the top of the list. The Gators have a relatively easy schedule and they should do well. The Gators received 58 out of 60 votes for number one. No other team has ever done that in the preseason 25 poll. Texas, Oklahoma, USC and Alabama rounded out the top 5. Ten preseason number ones have won the National Championship in the past, perhaps Florida will be number 11. It is going to be an exciting college season for sure.

There will be some very competitive games, you can bet on that. Until we meet again may your betting be better and remember to always be a good sport.

Reviewing Some Of The Big Games In Week 1 of NCAA Football

Filed under: Articles, Events, NCAA Football — Tags: , , — Will Curl @ 3:47 pm

Ohio State is ranked in the top ten of most NCAA football polls.  Their first game has the Buckeyes hosting Navy.  Not the biggest matchup in the world but it is very important that Ohio State gets off on the right foot this year.  Their second game will have them hosting a powerhouse in USC.  They need to hit the ground running and be up and ready for that game.  As usual Ohio State has a tough schedule facing Penn State, USC, Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin just to name a few.  It all begins with Navy and the Buckeyes will need a win there to make it all happen.  The Buckeyes have won or shared the Big Ten Championship for the last 4 years.  Don’t look for that to change.  The Buckeyes should win this one easily.

The USC Trojans kick off their season on September 5th against San Jose State.  Although that does not strike much fear in the hearts of gridiron elite USC also needs a big win before they travel to Ohio State.  The Trojans won big in the Rose Bowl last January and their defense should be great even with some new starters in the front seven.  However that offense will have to contribute even more this season for them to go all the way.  Look for USC to win this one with ease.

The Oklahoma Sooners open up September 5th hosting Brigham Young University.  Brigham Young has always been known for their explosive offense but they need their defense to step up as well.  This will be an important year for QB Sam Bradford as he leads the Sooners in hopes of their 4th straight Big 12 Championship.  Bradford needs to show that he can play well even if his offensive line does not.  Oklahoma has new starters on the offensive line a new receivers as well.  If they click with Bradford early they will dominate, if not it could be a long season.  This game has all the makings of a shootout.  Look for Oklahoma to pull out a close one.

The Alabama Crimson Tide open up September 5th against the Virginia Tech Hokies.  Virginia Tech has been putting up ten win seasons without garnering much respect.  A big win here would take them up a notch.  Alabama Coach Nick Saban has brought the Tide back to it’s glory years in a very short time.  Game one of this season will be time to put up or shut up.  This game is going to be a tough one but look for Nick Saban to pull a rabbit out of his hat.  We will review more games tomorrow.  Until we meet again may your betting be better and remember to always be a good sport.

College Football GMAC Bowl Betting Preview

NCAA Football experts report that early College Football betting has the public taking Tulsa at Home.

Stan Parrish gets his first taste of being a head coach on Tuesday as Ball State faces Tulsa in the GMAC Bowl. Parrish was the Cardinals’ offensive coordinator until head coach Brady Hoke left for San Diego State. “Who would’ve thunk it?” said Parrish, “Brady (Hoke) leaves and I’m the head coach. It’s just unbelievable. The football gods make things work in strange ways, don’t they?”

College Football Schedule

Tulsa (10-3) vs. Ball State (12-1)
Tuesday, 8:00 pm Eastern – ESPN

SBG Global NCAA Betting Line: Ball State – 2.5 , Total 75.5

Both Tulsa and Ball State come into this bowl game off losses in their conference championship games. Tulsa lost 27-24 to East Carolina in the Conference USA title game while Ball State lost the MAC Championship game to Buffalo by a score of 42-24.

Tulsa was able to win ten games this season and the success got head coach Todd Graham a new 10-year contract. The Golden Hurricane’s 10th victory was a 63-7 destruction of Bowling Green.  Tulsa is second in the country in total offense at 565 yards per game and second in scoring offense at 47.4 points per game.
Freshman receiver/return man Damaris Johnson led Conference USA with 2,201 all-purpose yards.

Ball State has a potent offense as well. They are led by MAC offensive player of the year, quarterback Nate Davis and running back MiQuale Lewis.

Here are the College Football betting stats for Tuesday’s game. The Cardinals are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 non-conference games. The Cardinals are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games as an underdog. The Cardinals are 20-8 ATS in their last 28 games overall.

SBG Global Current Line: Tulsa – 3 , Total 74

NCAA Sugar Bowl Betting Preview

Alabama was just a quarter away from playing in the BCS Title game but blew a 20-17 to Florida, losing the SEC Championship game last month 31-20. Now Alabama must get motivated to play an unbeaten Utah team in the Sugar Bowl on Friday.  Alabama has had a lot of success in the Sugar Bowl, going 8-4 all-time. The Crimson Tide has 31 bowl victories in their history and that leads the country. SBG Global reports that early College Football betting has the public taking Alabama at Home.

Utah has also been very good in bowl games going 10-3 including wins in their last six. They won the 2005 Fiesta Bowl against Pittsburgh that completed an unbeaten season. The Utes have been even better this season, ranking 6th in the College Football betting BCS standings.

NCAA Sugar Bowl Schedule

Utah (12-0) vs. Alabama (12-1)
Friday, 8:15 pm Eastern – FOX

Sugar Bowl betting lines: Alabama – 10 , Total 44.5

Utah has the nation’s longest winning streak at 13 games but they are big betting underdogs against what is considered a superior Alabama team. The Crimson Tide averaged 31.2 points and 196.5 rushing yards per game this season but those numbers are likely to drop considering they will be missing left tackle, Andre Smith who is an All-American. Smith was suspended for violating team rules and will miss the game. His absence could be a problem considering running back Glen Coffee and quarterback John Parker Wilson need help to make plays. If Wilson gets time to throw he usually finds freshman Julio Jones who had 51 catches, 847 yards and four TDs thi season.

Sugar Bowl betting lines: Alabama – 9.5 , Total 44.5

Friday’s game could be a defensive struggle considering the Tide ranked third in the country, allowing 256.9 yards per game. Utah’s offense was 15th in the country in scoring at 37.4 points per game but they haven’t played a defense like Alabama’s. Utah’s defense was not that far behind Alabama’s, ranking 12th in the country in scoring defense at 17.3 points per game.

Utah and Alabama have never met in their history. Utah is 0-6 all-time against SEC teams.

NCAAF Alamo Bowl Betting Preview

Two Top 25 teams with potent offenses get together on Monday as 22nd ranked Northwestern faces 25th ranked Missouri.  Northwestern (9-4) vs. Missouri (9-3) Monday, 8:00 pm Eastern – ESPN.  The Tigers had what could be considered a disappointing season considering they expected to be playing in a BCS bowl game this season. Quarterback Chase Daniel and receiver Jeremy Maclin had good years but the Tigers defense was a sieve, giving up a ton of points. Missouri was ranked as high as #3 this season but lost four of their last eight games including the Big 12 title game to Oklahoma. “It’s going to sting for a while and why wouldn’t it?” Daniel said, “But we can finish off in style. When was the last time a Missouri team won 10 games back-to-back in history? Never. We still have a chance to make history.”

SBG Global College Football betting has the public taking Missouri at Home.

Northwestern enters the bowl game with a much better frame of mind. Nothing was expected of the Wildcats but they surprised everyone to finish 9-3, including winning their finale against Illinois 27-10. “To be at nine wins right now with an opportunity for number ten, the opportunity to achieve our main goal this year – to win a bowl game – is all right here in front of us,” said head coach Pat Fitzgerald. Northwestern has not won a bowl game since 1949. “I think, if anything, (the bowl drought) will provide a little extra motivation,” senior quarterback C.J. Bacher said. “At the beginning of the year we set out to win a bowl game and we’ve put ourselves in a position to do that.”

SBG Global Current Line: Missouri – 12.5, Total 66.5

Northwestern and Missouri are playing for the first time since 1987. The all-time series is tied at 4-4. Here are more College Football betting stats for Monday’s game. The Wildcats are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 non-conference games.
