NBA Predictions for Friday November 16th!

It is Friday, November 16th, 2012 and the NBA Season is off and running. Today I want to give you my predictions for the games that will be played later tonight. If I bounce this ball too long I will be called for traveling so let's get started:

The Utah Jazz at Philadelphia 76ers

The Utah Jazz are 4-5 in this young 2012 NBA Season. The Jazz offense is sparked by Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap allowing the team to score just over 43 points per game from the paint. The Jazz lost their last game to the Boston Celtics 98-93. Offensively they have put up 99.9 points per game, but defensively they have allowed 99.7. They are 5th in the league in rebounds with 45.2 per game. The Philadelphia 76ers are 4-4 on the year and are feeling the loss of center Andrew Bynum who is sidelined with a knee injury until January. The 76ers got clobbered by the Detroit Pistons in their last game out 94-76. Offensively they have scored 88 points per game, but defensively they have given up 91.1. The 76ers are favored here by 1.5 points at home. I like the Utah Jazz 95-90,

The Dallas Mavericks at the Indiana Pacers

The Dallas Mavericks are 5-4 on the season. They won their last game 107-101 over Washington. The Mavericks are hurting without forward Dirk Nowitzki who is out with a knee injury. Offensively they have still managed to score 102.4 points per game, but they have allowed 99.3 defensively. Thier field goal % is 46.7, which ranks them 6th in the NBA. There is a lot of pressure on O.J. Mayo to pick up the slack with Nowitzki and Shawn Marion on the bench with injuries. The Indiana Pacers are looking for help from Tyler Hanabrough and Paul George with star Danny Granger out for 3 months with a knee injury. The Pacers are 3-6 on the season and lost their last game 99-85 to Milwaukee. Offensively they have only been able to sink in 87.8 points per game and defensively they have allowed 91.1. However, they are #1 in field goal % allowed at 41.1. The Pacers are favored by 2.5 tonight. I like the Mavericks 98-89.

The New York Knicks at the Memphis Grizzlies

The Knicks are 6-0 on the 2012 NBA Season. They won their last game over the Spurs 104-100. Forward Amare Stoudemire has a knee injury and is out indefinitely. The Knicks have scored over 100 points every game this season except against Orlando when they only sunk in 99 points. Offensively they are ranked #2 in the league with 103.5 points per game. Defensively they are also ranked #2 in the league allowing 89.8 points per game. The Memphis Grizzlies have gotten off to a good start as well and are 6-1 on the year. They won their last game over Oklahoma City 107-97. Offensively they have averaged 101.6 per game and defensively they have given up 92.4. The Grizzlies have won 14 straight games at home. Memphis is picked to win this one by 6 at home. I like the Knicks 93-88.

The Phoenix Suns at the LA Lakers

Here are two teams that are used to winning and are having a hard time of it this season. The Suns are 4-5 and lost their last game out 112-106 to the Bulls. Offensively they have managed to put up 99 points per season, but defensively they have permitted 104 points per game to be scored against them. The LA Lakers did some trading over the off season and thought they had another dream team, but so far the dream has been a nightmare. They are 3-5 so far this season and lost their last game 84-82 to the Spurs. They have managed 96.5 points per game on offense and have given up 93.1 defensively. They average 47.4 rebounds for and give up 37.6 rebounds (#1 in the NBA). The Lakers are favored by 9 at home. I like the Lakers in this one 90-82.

In other games tonight I like the:

Pistons over the Magic

Thunder over the Hornets

Timberwolves over the Warriors

Kings over the Hawks

Trail Blazers over the Rockets

These are predictions you can bet on. Until we meet again may your betting be better and remember to always be a good sport.
