NFL Picks For Week 16!

Week 16 in the NFL is upon us and the gridiron will be filled with teams fighting for playoff paydirt. This week will we surely witness the joy victory brings and the agony defeat delivers. This week we will know who wants to get into the playoffs more than the next guy. the boys will be separated from the men as every ounce of energy is put into glorious motion in pursuit of post season dreams or for the simple self respect of the organization. Here are my picks for Week 16:

Thursday Night

The Atlanta Falcons at the Detroit Lions

The Atlanta Falcons 12-2  are coming off of a 34-0 beat down of the New York Giants. Offensively this team has put up 26.5 points per game and defensively has only given up 18.5. They have been impressive, but have faltered when least expected. Obviously they have the best record in the NFC. The Detroit Lions are very inconsistent. They are 4-10 on the season and just got whipped 38-10 by a dismal Arizona team last week. Their offense has scored 23.6 points per game and they are ranked #1 in passing yards in the NFL with 302.1 per game, but their defense has given up 27.1, which ranks them #28. The Falcons are favored by 4.5 on the road in Detroit. I have to go with the Falcons here by 10.

The Cincinnati Bengals at the Pittsburgh Steelers

This is one of those games where a playoff spot is on the line in the AFC. The Bengals are 8-6, but lost earlier in the season to the Steelers. They won last week at Philadelphia 34-13. They have put 25.4 points per game on the scoreboard. Their defense has allowed 20.9 points per game. The Pittsburgh Steelers are 7-7 losing to the Cowboys last week in OT 27-24. Both of these teams have been chasing the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North. The Steelers have struggled this season, but will still make the playoffs if they can beat the Bengals and Browns in their last two games. If they win both and the Ravens lose their last two then the Steelers will win the division with a 9-7 record. The Steelers have the #1 defense allowing only 273.3 total yards per game. The Steelers are favored by 4.5 at home. I like the Steelers by 7.

The New Orleans Saints at the Dallas Cowboys

The Saints are 6-8 on the year, but destroyed Tampa Bay last week 41-0. The Saints have had a rough season, but like the Steelers this is one of those teams no one wants to see slip into the playoffs because of their big game capability. Offensively this team has been in typical form scoring 27.8 points per game, but defensively they have allowed 27.1. The Dallas Cowboys are 8-6 and are coming off a narrow win over the Steelers in OT last week. They are in a 3 way NFC East tie with the Giants and the Redskins and need a win badly here. The Cowboys are favored by 3 at home. I like the Saints in this one by 4.

In other games I like the:

The Packers over the Titans by 10
The Panthers over the Raiders by 7
The Dolphins over the Bills by 6
The Patiots over the jaguars by 14
The Colts over the Chiefs by 8
The Redskins over the Eagles by 9
The Rams over the Buccaneers by 5
The Texans over the Vikings by 10
The Chargers over the Jets by 4
The Broncos over the Browns by 12
The Giants over the Ravens by 10
The Bears over the Cardinals by 6
The Seahawks over the 49ers by 5

These are picks you can count on. Until we meet again, may your betting be better and remember always to be a good sport.
