2012 MLB Season Winding Down: 2 Divisions Need To Crown A Champ!
The MLB season has come down to the last 2 games of the regular season and would you believe there are 2 divisions in the American League that have yet to crown a champion. In the AL East the New York Yankees lead the division by 1 game over the playoff bound Baltimore Orioles who are 92-68. Either one of these teams could be champion after these last 2 games. The Yankees are rounding out yet another superior season against their rival Boston Red Sox. The Orioles are winding down their season against the Tampa Bay Rays. You pretty much have to give the edge to this title to the Yankees because the Red Sox have not had a good season at all.
The American League West Division has the Texas Rangers leading once again with 2 games left. They too have a record of 93-67. The Oakland A's are also 1 game back with a 92-68 record. In this case the season ending matchup couldn't be any better as the Texas Rangers are finishing up in Oakland against the A's. The A's won last night's game 4-3. Tonight Texas will start their ace pitcher M. Harrison who is 18-10 on the season. This one is going right down to the finish.
The American League Central is another story. The Tigers clinched the division last night with an 87-73 record. They are 3 games in front of the fading Chicago White Sox. The playoffs will starting soon and this may very well be one of the most exciting in years. In the National League the East has crowned a champion in none other than the Washington Nationals who stand at 96-64. The 2nd place Atlanta Braves are 93-67 and will be a wildcard team in the playoffs.
In the National League Central the Cincinnati Reds went ham and won the division with a 96-64 record as well. The closest team in 2nd place was the St. Louis Cardinals who finished at 87-73 and 9 games back. The fading Pittsburgh Pirates will suffer their 21st losing season in a row. In the National League West the San Francisco Giants clinched the championship with a 93-67 record with 2 games to play. Either the Cardinals in the Central Division or the Los Angeles Dodgers in the West will win the final wildcard spot. Yes, this is going to be a playoffs to remember so don't miss all the action. Until we meet again, may your betting be better and remember to always be a good sport.
