Nadal Defeated in 1st Round of Qatar Open!
Michael Berrer of Germany is the 127th ranked professional tennis player in the world, but he felt like he was #1 when he ousted #2 seed Rafael Nadal of Spain out of the Qatar Open in the first round.
Berrer, who had never defeated any player ranked in the top 5 defeated Nadal 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Although everyone knows that Nadal was far from top form it will still be a story Berrer can share with his grandchildren.
Nadal has not played a match since October when he was eliminated by Borna Coric a 17 year old from Croatia. He spent the fall months dealing with appendicitis and eventually endured surgery in November. He was out for 3 months last season with a wrist injury as well.
Novak Djokovic eliminated Duscan Lajovic 6-2, 6-1 to move on as well. Others that moved on include Tomas Berdych and David Ferrer.
Rafael Nadal knows it will take a lot of work to regain his usually superior form. He will continue to improve barring any future injuries or illnesses. Until we meet again may your betting be better and always be a good sport.
