September 5, 2012 is finally here and tonight the National Football League season gets under way in East Rutherford, New Jersey as the New York Giants host their division rival Dallas Cowboys. The Giants won the NFC East Division last year with a 9-7 record and then went on to win their 2nd Super Bowl in 4 years with QB Eli Manning at the helm. The Dallas Cowboys struggled through another dismal season finishing 8-8 behind the Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Tomorrow Week 3 of the 2012 NFL Preseason kicks off with a bang. We will not make any predictions until the regular season begins, but we will give you some insight on what to expect. Tomorrow night, Thursday August 23, the Green Bay Packers 0-2 in their first two preseason games, will travel to Cincinnati to face the 2-0 Bengals. The Packers went 15-1 last year and did not make it to the Super Bowl. The upstart Bengals made the Wild Card Game in the AFC with a 9-7 record.

The  PGA Championship at Kiawah Island, South Carolina is heading into the final round, at least for some. The 3rd round had to be stopped because of rain, which means that 26 players had to get up early and finish before they could begin the final round. This could work in the favor of some players like Tiger Woods who once again fell into a rut once he hit the weekend. Tiger would probably vote for playing all 4 rounds on the weekdays if he had a choice. Tiger finds himself tied for 6th place at -2 under par, which is 5 strokes behind the leader Rory McIlroy.

The PGA Championship begins today at the infamous Kiawah Island in South Carolina. In a season where the elite have found it hard to close the deal for major victories; this course has got to at best add some excitement. Many of the golfing worlds best have faired well early on only to fall apart on the final 18. Jim Furyk did it twice and Tiger Woods has been virtually a different player from Thursday to Sunday. Even though this may be the case it would appear easy to assume Tiger still has a good chance to be the last man standing in the PGA Championship.

As the 2012 Olympic Games in London rage on one of its finest moments occured in the semifinal tennis match between Roger Federer and Juan Martin Del Potro. Federer dropped the first set 3-6 bofroe coming back to win the hard fought second match 7-6. It was the third match though that altered the entire meaning of "hard fought." It took four hours and twenty six minutes for Federer to defeat Potro 19-17. No three set match in the history of tennis has ever taken that long.

The 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England are well underway and the competition in most events has been quite fierce. Going into July 30th China has won the most medals with 14. They have won 8 Gold, 4 Silver and 2 Bronze. The United States is following close behind with 13. They have won 3 Gold, 5 Silver and 5 Bronze. The next closest country in terms of medals won is Italy with 8.

The 2012 Major League Baseball season is rolling right along and the play is heating up as hot as the summer sun. Remember that you can find the latest odds and match ups at Bovada.com. In the American Leage East the New York Yankees lead the Baltimore Orioles by 7 games. The Yankees square off agaist the Seattle Mariners tonight. The Yanks are 58-38 on the season with 65 games to go. They are playing in Seattle where the 42-56 Mariners are 17-28 at home. The Yanks are 28-21 on the road. The Yankees will be starting F.

After finishing with scores of 67 yesterday and today, Tiger Woods has made himself a serious contender for a victory in the British Open. The Tiger Woods saga continues as he puts himself in contention again and a shot at winning his 15th major. He sets 4 stokes off the leader Brandt Snedeker going into Saturday's round. He is also behind Adam Scott by 3 strokes. Neither Scott or Snedeker has ever won a major and one must wonder how they will hold up under the pressure with much less experience than Tiger.
