New MLB Plate-Collision Rule Memo To Be Released Today/Replay Rules Discussed

February 24, 2014 - If you are a National Football League fan then you have witnessed a lot of discussion and rule changes over the past several years surrounding the issue of concussions. The NFL is working to eliminate uncessary collisions that could badly injure players. It would appear that Major League Baseball is following in their footsteps. Although many would not consider MLB to be a contact sport; there have been some pretty intense collisions around home plate.

Nadal & Ferrer Bound For The Semifinals in RIO

February 21, 2014 - When Rafael Nadal's back is not hurting he is hard to beat. The #1 seed in the Rio Open being played in RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil made short use of Portugals Joao Sousa today 6-1, 6-0. Nadal has been recovering from another back injury and has not participated in any tennis event since being knocked out of the Australian Open Final.

Nadal glides into the semifinals where he will take on another Spaniard Pablo Andujar. Andujar didn't treat Tommy Robredo of Spain any better eliminating him from contention 6-1, 6-1.

Eastern Conference Wins 2014 NBA All-Star Game In A Big Way

February 17, 2014 - The annual East vs West NBA All-Star Game was played last night in New Orleans, LA. No previous All-Star game would score as many points as swished through the baskets in New Orleans. The East was led by Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers who dropped in 31 points. He would take home the Most Valuable Player Award for his performance. All-Star East teammate Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks added 30 points in the winning cause.

Tomas Berdych Only Remaining Seed in ABN Amro Tournament

February 15, 2014 - Juan Martin del Potro entered the ABN Amro Tournament in Rotterdam, Neatherlands as the top seed. It seemed only natural that last years defending champion would be a favorite to do it again. This would not be the case. Yesterday Ernests Gulbis rocked Del Potro 6-3, 6-4 ending any hopes for a repeat performance. Gulbis, who hails from Latvia, left the match happy to have the opportunity to move on. Del Potro of Argentina was noticeably bothered by an injured wrist that weakened his serve dramatically.

It is hard to believe that this Texan had at one point participated in 187 events over his 8 year career without a victory. As of today he has won 3 of his last 8.
